Grammys. Rewarding success, not always talent.
Prediction:
Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Beyonce will win almost everything tonight.
1.) Lady Gaga is a freak. A very talented freak.
2.) Taylor Swift is overrated. But knows how to make a hit so kudos to her.
3.) And Beyonce, well…atleast she had the greatest music video OF ALL TIME!

Birthday.
So my birthday ended up being a pretty good one, but left me missing a lot of things as well. Its the first birthday where I haven’t been with all my family, and the first one in years where I haven’t had my best friends around to celebrate with me. So it was a little hard going through the day without those people.
Good things about the day though: pancake pantry and movie with dad,...

Most people already know Invisible Children is my favorite charity. Working to raise money for them was one of the most rewarding things I did in highschool. Setting up benefit shows for them is what got me interested in working in the music industry. They recently won $1 Million and I’m super stoked for them. This video brought a bigger smile to my face than anything else has this week. I...

I just listened to Sufjan Stevens for the first time. Whyyy did I wait this long? The couple songs I’ve heard so far are so good.
I think its funny that iTampon is a trending topic on twitter. Bad name choice with the iPad, Apple.
chimbleysweep:
Why did Apple name that damn tablet an iPad? Could they really think of nothing better? No really. I require an explanation.
It’s like iPod, with an a.

"To create is to cosign the Maker's checks."
A new article written by Jon Foreman was posted to the Huffington Post recently. It’s about the power of words and the creation of art. I’d definitely recommend reading it. You can check it out here:

I especially like the final two paragraphs:

Hey NFL.
Fix your overtime system. It’s complete bs. College football has had it figured out for years, take some notes.

Why did I take an 8 AM english class with Steven?!
-shoots self-
8 AM and english class are two things that should never be combined. Although I wouldn’t be happy with an english class at any time of the day.

I like this idea a lot.
Taken from Jason Tate at absolutepunk.net:
“I think it’s time someone tried a game changing move in the music industry. Someone with money. Someone that’s been lagging in recent product launches and needs to do something to really re-spark the public interest. Microsoft - I’m looking at you. Want to be cool again? It’s time for a device that you pay a monthly fee on...

I’m in a weird mood. I don’t know why. I feel like I need to start using more of my time to do something worthwhile. I’m not sure what “worthwhile” means to me right now, I just know its not sitting in my room watching tv and refreshing facebook every five seconds.
So much of school feels like a waste at this point in time as well. I want to focus on what I want to...

Please vote for this.
Invisible Children is in a competition right now to win $1 Million from Chase Banks. They’re in first place right now and it would be awesome if you could help them get ahead even more. You can vote for them here:

Cody Bonnette of As Cities Burn writes some of the most thought provoking lyrics I’ve ever had the privilege of reading. I’ve spent countless hours trying to break down his songs and I still come away with something new each time. I love how he questions his faith and brings up so many questions and doubts that most Christians are scared to admit.
I remember when I first began...
